A year at our school

Captains to Parliament House

Our School Captains and Vice Captains attended a special Primary School Leaders event at NSW Parliament House, where they connected and exchanged ideas with student leaders from the Pittwater region. The day included a guided tour and an inspiring Q&A session with Ms Jacqui Scruby MP, providing them with valuable insights into the role of an MP and the workings of democracy

Years 3-6 Dance Concert

Our Years 3-6 students took to the stage for the spectacular annual dance concert, ‘Movie Madness’. It was a dazzling celebration inspired by students' most beloved movies. Each class performed a dance set to iconic movie music. From trolls and minions to superheroes and racing cars, our talented dancers impressed the audience with their creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication after weeks of rehearsals. The concert was a fantastic community event filled with fun, excitement, and applause for every performer. A truly memorable night for all involved!

Zoo Excursion

Stage 2 embarked on an exciting excursion to Taronga Zoo, where they explored diverse habitats and learned about animal conservation. This hands-on experience supported classroom learning and encouraged curiosity about wildlife and environmental responsibility

Canberra Camp

Toward the end of Term 2, Year 5 and Year 6 had unforgettable camps in Canberra, exploring key sites like the old and new Parliament House—where they experienced a mock bill passing—and visiting the Australian War Memorial, National Arboretum, Royal Australian Mint, National Capital Exhibition, Questacon, and the Australian Institute of Sport. Throughout the busy trip, the students consistently demonstrated exemplary behaviour that made the experience enjoyable for everyone.

Schoolhouse Museum Excursion

Throughout terms one and two, students have been learning about what family life looked like in the past and explored what has changed or remained the same over time. Some of the key themes that they have examined include family roles, toys, food and special events. The best learning often involves hands-on experiences and the Schoolhouse Museum offers students a taste of what schooling was like during the 1880s and 1910s.

History of our Binishells

Did you know our Binishells are over 50 years old? They were first built in Australia in 1974 and are the only examples of their specific design and configuration in the world. NSW’s collection of the 15 Binishells across 14 schools was the largest of its kind in the world.

Designed by Italian architect, Dante Bini who developed an innovative construction method that used compressed air to inflate a concrete dome from ground level. Here at Narrabeen, Bini incorporated a symbolic feature called the "Pearl of Knowledge" near the original library entrance, representing learning and discovery for students.

The domes are regarded as important examples of 1960s–70s architectural optimism, reflecting the era of the Space Race, Star Trek, and futuristic design. Many NSW Binishells are heritage-listed and our domes are currently undergoing a significant restoration.
