Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Student Leadership
Our school executive has been working with our student leadership team to help them understand their roles as leaders and strengthen their leadership skills. As well as attending workshops and meetings at a school level, our core leadership team has been fortunate enough to be involved in opportunities outside of school throughout the year including student leadership conferences - Halogen National Young Leaders Day, and The GRIP Leadership Conference.
Our School Captains and Vice Captains have represented the school at community services on Anzac and remembrance Day and each term the SRC executive have participated The Minister’s Student Council (Doves) Meeting which is a gathering of all SRC leaders from schools in the Pittwater and Northern Beaches Learning Alliance networks.
3-6 Athletics Carnival
Our Cross Country carnival was held on a beautiful sunny day - lucky us. It was so much fun and we had a blast cheering everyone on as they raced. Students from Years 2-6 got to participate in having a go.
The Pittwater Zone Cross Country was then held the following week where 48 of our students attended. As a result of such success, we were named OVERALL School Champions at Zone which NNPS has never achieved before. Congratulations to all involved.
Debating Workshop
On Monday 19th May, a group of enthusiastic students from NNPS had the exciting opportunity to take part in the Primary Debating Workshop at Terrey Hills Public School.
The workshop introduced our budding debaters to the art of public speaking, critical thinking, and structured argument. Through a series of fun, interactive activities, the students learned how to express their opinions clearly, listen respectfully to others, and think on their feet — all essential skills for confident communication.
One of the highlights of the day was a friendly mini-debate where students teamed up to argue for or against a variety of topics. It was wonderful to see them speak with such passion and creativity, supported by newly learned techniques such as rebuttal, persuasive language, and building strong points.
The workshop not only helped students build their confidence but also encouraged teamwork and respectful discussion — skills that will serve them well both in and out of the classroom.
Well done to our debaters who took part. We’re very proud of the way you represented our school and embraced the challenge with energy and enthusiasm
"We chose NNPS because of its amazing and dedicated team who create a warm, supportive, and inspiring environment every day. The beautiful school grounds, caring leadership, and vibrant programs make our children excited and happy to learn and grow here.”— a parent of Narrabeen North Public School
