Uniform

We launched our new uniform in Term 4 of 2025 and are now in a 2 year transition period as new uniform pieces are introduced, and old garments are phased out. All students will be required to wear the full new uniform in Term 1, 2028.

With new fabric and designs, the new uniform is more streamlined (less pieces required) and is to be worn across the seasons, layering up or down depending on the daily weather.

Our Uniform Shop is proudly operated by our Parents & Citizens Association (P&C). The P&C aim to manage the shop within the school community to ensure families benefit from more affordable pricing and personalised service rather than purchasing uniforms through an independent supplier/store.

New NNPS Uniform FAQs & Timeline

Transition period

In line with Department of Education guidelines, there will be a long transition period of 2 and a bit years; from Term 4, 2025 - end of Term 4, 2027.

No student will be penalized for continuing to wear the legacy uniform during the transition period. The 2nd hand uniform shop will continue selling legacy items as well.

Why is the uniform changing?
The school uniform has not changed in many years. The first school community survey (conducted Sep 2024) showed that there were many areas of the uniform that really needed to be updated or changed completely. The primary concerns raised included reducing the sheer quantity of items families are required to purchase; offering a more suitable warm option; improving the comfort of many of the items, phasing out the tunics and improving the durability and comfort of the polos.
What are the new fabrics?

Everyday Polo - cotton back fabric (cotton inside, poly outer). The cotton inside gives soft comfort on the skin, whilst the polyester outer provides durability and stain resistance.

Sports Polo - bamboo infused poly, sublimated (printed). This is a new product to the market, is super soft and doesn’t feel like a typical poly sublimated shirt.

Shorts, Skorts - Made in 4-way microfibre stretch these items are flexible and durable. They are comfortable for kids and come with zippered pockets and adjustable waistbands.

Trackpants - Not fleece, these trackpants are also made of the same 4-way microfibre stretch allowing movement for kids to play in. Along with the soft inner layer it offers comfort and warmth.

Why are we sticking with green, yellow, black?
These are the school colours and can not be changed at this time.
Why are we having the shorts, skorts, trackpants embroidered? Why not keep them plain?
The embroidered shorts, skorts and trackpants will give a sense of belonging and pride in the school uniform, reflecting the values and identity of our school community. The consistency will reduce the non-uniform variations giving a smart and inclusive look across the community, plus the yellow embroidery will tie in aesthetically with the polos.
Are we changing the hats, school bags, etc?
The Uniform Sub-Committee will take a look at the other items once the uniform is agreed and implemented. Feedback was received during the consultation process on these items and they will also be reviewed in detail when possible.
