The NEST K-12 pathway
Narrabeen North Public School is a proud member of 'The NEST' - The Narrabeen Elanora Student and Teacher Collaboration (Narrabeen North PS, Elanora Heights PS, Narrabeen Lakes PS and Narrabeen Sports High School). This local initiative is innovative, purpose driven and community based, focused on creating opportunities for students to engage in select activities that encourages problem solving skills, collaborative work and critical and creative thinking.

Through shared programs, cross-school experiences and strong collaboration between teachers, our students are able to participate in rich, authentic learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and beyond a single school.

Stronger pathways from primary to high school
A key strength of the NEST partnership, is the support it provides students as they prepare to transition from primary school into high school.
Through shared learning experiences, mentoring programs and high school visits, students begin to build relationships with peers and teachers before they start Year 7. They become familiar with the high school environment, expectations and opportunities, laying the foundation for a smooth and positive transition.
High school students take on leadership roles, mentoring and supporting younger learners through a range of programs. Primary students benefit from these connections, while older students develop leadership, communication and responsibility. We are proud of the strong sense of community and connection this creates across all four schools.
Cognitive - expanding thought processes and enhancing understanding
Students engage in rich, inquiry-based learning experiences such as STEM programs, forensic science challenges and historical investigations. Students are challenged to think deeply, ask questions and work together to solve complex problems.
Learn to Fly!
Across two days students investigated the science behind flight by designing paper aeroplanes, building rubber-band helicopters and exploring cencepts such as lift, drag, thrust and torque.
Crack the Case!
Students used real scientific techniques to investigate the mysterious theft of Ms Carters lollies. Throught the day, they conducted DNA extractions, analysed fingerprints, completed paper chromatography experiments, examined evidence under microscopes, and pieced together clues to identify the culprit.
Halogen Leaders Day
We joined more than 8,000 student leaders from across NSW for Halogen National Young Leaders Day at Darling Harbour. Our core leadership team participated in a range of engaging activities and seminars and we heard from four inspiring speakers who shared their personal journeys and offered valuable insights into what it truly means to be an effective and authentic leader.
